12-7-2019 | 7:31 PM | CHARLOTTE,NC— On Saturday December 7, 2019 at 7:31 p,m., 911 calls into Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported a man shot multiple times. The shooting was reported inside an apartment complex at 2800 Baltimore Avenue in the South End neighborhood.
When officers arrive they found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the apartment complex. Police confirm the man showed up at an apartment nearby and a resident dialed 911. CMPD was unsure where in the complex the victim was shot.
Paramedics with Mecklenburg EMS (MEDIC) rushed the victim to Atrium CMC Trauma Center with life threatening injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing. Police have made no arrests at this time.
12-15-2019 | 12:22 AM | FORT MILL,SC— On Sunday December 15, 2019 around 12:22 a.m., the York County Sheriff Office received 911 calls reported a shooting at a Fort Mill,SC Bar. The shooting was reported at the Drunken Goat Bar & Grill located at 377 Rubin Center Drive. Dozens of officers from the YCSO and SC Highway Patrol converged on the scene within minutes. According to a York County Sheriff Spokesman the shooting happened after an argument near the bar’s pool tables became violent.
The violence erupted just across the street from the popular Carowinds Amusement Park on Carowinds Boulevard just outside of the Charlotte, North Carolina city limits.
A 23-year old Charlotte man and a 27-year old Rock Hill man and a Rock Hill man, 27, were both wounded following the gunfire. Both victims were taken by others in a personal vehicle to Atrium CMC Pineville Hospital. One man was shot in the chest while the other suffered a gunshot wound to the neck. Both injured victims appear to have non life threatening injuries said York Co. Sheriff Spokesman Trent Faris.
Witnesses told officers the victim was transported in a personal vehicle to Witnesses say the suspect was described as a black male 6’4″ with dreads wearing a red long sleeve shirt. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a red colored Acura.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
12-7-2019 | 9:47 PM | CHARLOTTE,NC— UPDATE: Charlotte-Mekclenburg Police say 23-year old Celeste Leveaux Lytle was driving a 1996 Saturn SL1 when she lost control and ran off the road. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Saturn was traveling west on Wilkinson Boulevard at a high rate of speed. The Saturn was traveling too fast to negotiate a curve in the roadway and the vehicle’s driver’s side tires struck the concrete median. The vehicle then slid out of control and travelled off the right side of the road, striking both a utility pole and a tree. Excessive speed is a contributing factor in this crash and impairment is suspected.
ORIGINAL STORY: At 9:47p.m., on Saturday December 7, 2019 a violent crash claimed the life of a driver in Southwest Charlotte. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Charlotte Fire Department, & Mecklenburg EMS Agency (MEDIC) responded to the crash in front of 4150 Wilkinson Boulevard.
Charlotte Firefighters arrived on scene and found a vehicle that had crashed and wrapped around a tree. The driver of the sedan was trapped inside the vehicle following the violent crash. The vehicle crashed in front of the Freedom Division Office of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Paramedics pronounced the driver who was the sole occupant deceased a short time later at the scene. The accident scene was 3 miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Wilkinson Boulevard was shutdown while CMPD Major Crash Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians investigated.
12-7-2019 | 1:44 PM | FARMINGDALE,NY— O On Saturday 7, 2019 December at 1:44 p.m, a driver crashed into a Long Island Sandwich Shop injuring a 8 year old girl. The accident happened at 47-3 Boundary Avenue in Farmingdale New York.
The driver of the Gray Honda CRV went completely through the restaurant. Sources say the driver from Queens, New York realized the Honda was making weird noises as he pulled into the parking lot. The driver reportedly took his foot off the brake and the vehicle slammed into the store.
Fire officials confirm the 8-year-old girl was cut by flying glass when the SUV barreled through the entrance. The girl was reportedly sitting at a table enjoying lunch when the vehicle hit the table knocking it out of place.
Paramedics transported the child to a local hospital for treatment. Police say this was a tragic accident and no charges are likely to be filed.
11-24-2019 | 3:34 PM | CHARLOTTE,NC— Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Major Crash Unit are investigating a fatal vehicle crash in the South Division.
On Sunday, November 24, 2019 at approximately 3:34 p.m., South and Independence Division officers responded to the 5700 block of Providence Road in reference to a single motor-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Upon their arrival, officers located a 2008 Nissan Altima that was being driven by Eileen Redmond Miller. They also located a pedestrian in the roadway unconscious. Rhonda Michelle Cook, 52 had been struck by the Nissan.
Paramedics arrived and began CPR and other life-saving measures. The victim was transported to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased. Eileen Miller and her passenger did not sustain any injuries in this crash. The Major Crash Unit responded to conduct the investigation.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the Rhonda Cook was crossing Providence Road near Old Providence Road when she was struck by the Nissan Altima. The Nissan had been traveling southbound on Providence Road in the left straight lane at the time of the crash. Neither speed or impairment are contributing factors for the Nissan in this crash. A crosswalk was not being used by Rhonda Cook when she was struck. No charges have been filed against Eileen Miller at this time.
