01-26-2020 | 11:159 AM | FARMINGDALE,NY— A massive fire destroyed a Long Island Business Sunday afternoon. Suffolk County Police Department & East Farmingdale Fire Company responded to the reported commercial building fire at 226 Route 109.
East Farmingdale Fire Department arrived and found smoke showing from a kitchen supply warehouse. The fire grew quickly to 3 alarms due to the fire being fed by gas within the building. The massive fire closed busy Route 109 near Republic Airport to traffic for hours.
Mutual aid was sent from five neighboring fire departments to assist in bringing the massive flames under control. Multiple Fire Department Tower Ladders operated dumping thousands of gallons of water from above. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
10-28-2019 | 1:26 AM | MASSAPEQUA PARK,NY— In the overnight night hours of Monday October 28, 2019 Nassau County Police responded to reported shots fired in an upscale Massapequa Park neighborhood. At 1:25am Nassau County Seventh Precinct officers responded after 911 calls on Glengarrif Road.
NCPD Det. Vincent Garcia says officers discovered multiple shell casings in front of the home on Glengariff Road. Multiple bullet holes penetrated the home which police say was not the intended target. Police confirm more than a dozen shots were fired from a vehicle traveling down Glengarrif Road. They say the vehicle directed the gunfire towards the residene.
Nassau County Police officials say no of the occupants in the home were injured. The residents of the home were asleep at the time. Seventh Squad Detectives are reviewing home surveillance video from the house.
