11-07-2019 | 3:51 PM | CHARLOTTE,NC— On Thursday November 7, 2019 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police South Division officers responded the Maplecrest Townhomes on Paperbark Circle for a death investigation. The call for service came in at 3:51 p.m at 12151 Paperbark Circle
When officers located an adult male with apparent trauma inside of a residence. He was pronounced at the scene. Police say an altercation between a 45-year old homeowner and an “invited house guest” led to the deadly scene. Officers discovered the victim had multiple injuries related to trauma when the arrived. The victims name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and are currently canvassing the town house complex to determine whether there are any additional witnesses to this incident. One witness was transported to police headquarters for further questioning.
Police have a person of interest identified and say there is no present danger to the community. Crime Scene Search has responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. This marks the 92nd homicide for 2019 for the city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
